Ukunda Schools Project
Newsletter #1 - September 2004

Dear colleagues
In the past you showed interest in one of our many projects. Thanks to your contribution, these projects became great resources for students all over the world. We are planning to continue these ongoing projects for the coming years. But that is not the reason why we write this to you.

Exciting new project
The son of Rene de Vries, Frank, started to develop a website to raise funds for a poor elementary school in Ukunda, Kenya. The purpose of this website is to raise awareness about Ukunda and to give others an opportunity to help the local Ukunda schools. The Ukunda Schools Project is hosted by Frank and Rene de Vries, Hilder and Rosie Anami. Frank is maintaining the site, Hilder reports from Kenya, Rosie is our contact person in Kenya and Rene will host the project.

You can be a part of this exciting new project! We would like to invite you to become an active participant for this new project. Please help us raising money and/or school supplies for the Mvindeni Primary School in Ukunda. Visit our website http://www.up.digitalschool.nl to find out how you can help us to make this project a huge success.

At this moment we raised over 6000 EURO and René is planning to go to Kenya first week of January 2005 to buy school books. The more money we have, the more text books we can buy for the Ukunda students. So, we hope we can welcome you too as participant for the Ukunda Schools Project.

Kind regards
Rene de Vries
