A STORY ABOUT MY HOME AREA AND MY STUDY
My name is Frank de Vries, I was born on 8 november 1987 in Haarlem
(Holland). I just finished middle school and I will go to next
school in August 2004. It is a Dutch tradition when someone
graduates from middle / high school or university, you put your
school bag and the flag on the flag pole and put it outside your
house, so everyone knows you graduated.
I want to become a multi media specialist. At this moment I already
designed many websites, including the school websites for my
father's school and for my middle school HBM.
As you can read on the introduction page of our project, I visited
Kenya during summer vacation 0f 2003. I was able to visit the
Mvindeni primary school with the help from Rosie. I am glad we were
able to pay visits to this school and a middle school. Now I
understand more about the difficulties many schools in Africa have
to deal with. I hope this project will be successful, so we will be
able to help the Mvindeni primary school.
My hobbies are computers, talking with my friends
all over the world (through MSN), making videos, my scooter and my
rock collection.
When we came back from our vacation in Kenya, I
started to work on this website. I designed it and wrote the Dutch
version. My Dad Rene and his USA colleague Joan took care for
English translation since my English is not that good in the
beginning. However, right now I have no problems anymore with
English because of this project and the week in London.
As I said, I am the designer of this website and
it was Rosie Anami who introduced me online to Hilder. Alas, I never
met Hilder in person and it would be fun to meet her some day
soon. Hilder does not have access to internet
and computers all the time, so it was no problem that I would take
care for the website design and Hilder took care for the information
about Kenya. I think this way we did a great job, working together
like we did. It is my wish to try to get her a laptop with internet
access, so we can chat and exchange information more easily. |
