Girls For A Change team # 41 is made up of four freshman students, Kelly, Katherine, Dong, and Annie, from Independence and Andrew Hill High Schools, California, USA. We are a part of the GFC organization because we each want to do something to make a difference in our world. After stumbling across the website for the Ukunda Schools Project, we decided to take part in raising money to less fortunate children in Africa. In May of 2004, we participated in a marathon hosted by Human Race and were able to collect pledges for our project. We also received a grant from the Eva Foundation to aid our cause. Through these two sources, we gathered up sufficient money to give to the Ukunda Schools Project. It's not much, but we like knowing that we helped.

The collected money is donated online by using GSN's Just Give Page. The team filled in the donation amount and mentioned Ukunda Schools Project in the Designated donation field.
